Pork from rare breed Berkshire pigs

Duckaller Farm is a small Organic farm of around 90 acres, run by Keith and Roz Partridge, who make a strong connection between farming and the production of fine quality food.

This is summed up in their farming practice which, in addition to meeting Organic Standards, also meets their own standard of all meat coming from animals home-reared the old fashioned way - free range, antibiotic free and GM free.

Their Berkshire pigs have a great life, born and raised at Duckaller Farm where animal welfare is all-important. The pigs have plenty of open space, with free access to insulated houses and plenty of bedding.

The Berkshire is a traditional pork pig that produces some mouth watering joints and chops with 'crackling' that is second to none. The excellent carcass quality made it an early favourite with the Royal Family who for years kept a large 'Berkshire' herd at Windsor Castle.

Nothing compares to the taste of succulent, mouth-watering roasted pork and particularly the pork from Duckaller Farm's Berkshire pigs, a traditional breed that produces wonderfully flavoured pork with amazing delicious crackling.

Duckaller Farm is registered with the Soil Association as an Organic Farm and with the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. In addition to raising their own pigs, Keith and Roz also grow produce for Riverford Organic Vegetable Boxes.

Devon Rose Farm, Seaton - Smoked Applewood Bacon, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Sausages

Situated on the southern coast between Devon and Dorset, Devon Rose is steeped in three generations of farming and butchery know-how.

The business today has diversified into producing highly lauded welfare friendly meat products, game, dry cure bacon, specialist sausages and burgers from meat sourced within a 40-mile radius of Seaton.

Meat comes from animals bred and raised in a traditional manner on pasture land. Grown slowly outside and free range, Devon Rose use a mixture of rare, traditional and modern breeds all noted for purity, taste and eating quality.
